Project: Paragraph 79 House
Location: Lincolnshire
Client: Private
Status: Feasibility
This project was a feasibility study for the possible construction of a dwelling on a rural site in Lincolnshire, for which approval would be sought under paragraph 79 of the NPPF.
The house was located in Flood Zone 3, and the proposal suggested raising the house up on a staggered concrete plinth, partly sheltered by the earth excavated from a new natural swimming pond, formed in a dip in the site where a previous pond had been filled in. This earth bank would allow the owners to walk down from their first floor terrace area into the meadow garden beyond.
