Our clients approached us with a clear vision — to transform a dated garage building into a high-end holiday home that would make the most of its extraordinary woodland setting near the North Norfolk coast. The existing structure offered little charm or connection to its surroundings, so the challenge was to re-imagine it as a unique, welcoming retreat that felt both luxurious and rooted in place.

Working closely with our clients and their contractor, we helped turn that ambition into reality. As executive architects, we developed the detailed design and technical information needed to deliver a precise, high-quality build. The re-modelled building is now clad in striking charred timber by Toasted Wood, with a black zinc standing-seam roof and aluminium windows — a refined, contemporary palette that sets off the surrounding greenery beautifully. A new timber-clad boot room with canopy creates a clear and inviting entrance, while an air-source heat pump provides sustainable, modern comfort.

The result is a complete transformation: a once-tired outbuilding reborn as a distinctive woodland retreat that reflects our clients’ vision and creativity — a place that both complements its landscape and offers guests a truly memorable experience
